At first Larry and Jophia contacted me to do a post-wedding shoot in Bali. But little did they know that the universe had another plan for them. A few months later Larry came back to me and told me that Jophia was pregnant, so automatically the planned trip to Bali became their babymoon trip, and the post-wedding shoot turned into a maternity shoot.
What made this session non-ordinary was that they came up with an idea to do a little baby-naming ceremony during the shoot! They prepared two names for their baby girl, and on that moment they let the baby herself chose her name. The name was decided when the baby showed gentle movement after Larry whispered ‘Kaylee’ to Jophia’s belly.
After that, each of them wrote a letter for baby Kaylee. It was a touching moment when Jophia teared up while writing her letter for her daughter. They also prepared a box which contained special things to be passed down to their daughter, one of them was Jophia’s wedding dress.
I felt lucky to be a part of such heart warming experience. It truly inspired me and I hope it will inspire more parents-to-be to not only do typical maternity shoot but do something as meaningful as what Larry and Jophia did.
