Doing family sessions is such a stress reliever for me. There’s never a dull moment when I see the laughter of kids playing around, with that spark of genuine happiness in their little eyes. Or the smiles of the parents watching their children being amazed and amused by the little things that they see in the outside world.
Like that afternoon when I photographed Jennamia having fun at the beach. For some reason I couldn’t remember, it was her first time playing in the sea water. She hesitated for a bit before her little feet lightly kissed the sea foam in front of her. A moment later, she would drag her mom and dad to run with her, before she dipped herself in the water later on. Nonstop laughter filled the hour. Her ear-to-ear smiles showed how much she loved it. It’s as if she’d been waiting for that day to come.
A sudden thought hit me that moment, maybe I love doing family sessions not only because the smiles I get to see.. But also because I’m always left with something to learn from the children during that short 1 hour. Just like that day, I learned that how we as adults should be more like kids. How we should let our curiosity beats our fear. How we should see the best of every small thing in life. And how we should express our feelings freely without holding back.
