// Tokyo Couple Session in Spring //
Photographer: Andre
The first time we met Nicky and Hootan was when I did a post-wedding shoot for them when they were in Bali around two years ago (you can see their session here). Two years later in last March 2017 we met again when we travelled to Japan. Nicky said it was like a fate that our trip dates coincided without even knowing. More over, it’s Japan out of many places. Tokyo is the place where Hootan grew up. It’s always been a home for him. They told us he has a special bond with Japan and its culture, he’s basically a Japanese at heart.
During our leisure walk in Shinjuku Gyoen Park, Hootan brought us to his favourite spot at the park, which was a beautiful zen garden where the pink sakura blossoms looked amazing. There were hundreds of tourists that day in the park came to take pictures of sakuras. Luckily we came to this spot before it got too crowded, though we still had to take turns for the money shot under the big tree. Done with the park, we went to an interesting Japanese alley called Memory Lane in Shinjuku. We explored a little bit and finished our shooting there.
After their photo session, they invited us for lunch to Hootan’s favourite tonkotsu place in town. It was seriously the best tonkotsu I’ve ever tasted! We continued our long overdue catch up on that table in that restaurant. That day felt so awesome with them around. Tokyo was still an unfamiliar place for us that time, but their presence made it feel more like home. Thank you Nicky & Hootan for the great time! Hopefully the universe works itself out again so we can coincidentally cross path next time in another special place.
